The U.S. Capitol Police named Assistant Chief Yogananda Pittman as appearing chief, NBC News Washington reported.
This comes within the aftermath of U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund asserting his resignation on Thursday (Jan. 7) following President Donald Trump supporters’ assault on the Capitol.
Pittman, who joined the division in 2001, is one of the first Black girls supervisors to earn the rank of captain. Whereas serving as captain, she was assigned to the Capitol Division because the Govt Officer.
In keeping with WBAL-TV, Pittman is an alumna of Morgan State College, the place she earned a bachelor of science diploma in psychology.
